Frequently asked questions
Straight answers to the questions business owners ask us most.
How quickly can I get business finance?
Timings vary by product, lender and the information required. Your broker will explain the likely process once your circumstances have been reviewed.
Will submitting an enquiry affect my credit score?
Submitting the enquiry itself does not affect your credit score. If a lender later needs to carry out a credit search, the type of search will be explained before you proceed.
How much can my business borrow?
Facilities range from £10,000 to £5 million or more, depending on your turnover, trading history and the type of finance. Your broker will give you a realistic figure before you apply.
Do I need to offer security or a personal guarantee?
Not always. Many of our lenders offer unsecured facilities, though a personal guarantee is common. Where security is required, your broker will explain exactly what's involved before you commit to anything.
Can I get finance with a limited trading history?
Yes. While more options open up after two years of trading, we work with lenders who support newer businesses, and products like merchant cash advances and asset finance can suit younger companies.
How much does your service cost?
Any broker fees and commission arrangements will be explained before you decide whether to proceed. We may receive commission from a finance provider if you enter into an agreement with them. Details can be provided on request.
What information do I need to apply?
Just the basics to start: your business name, how much you'd like to borrow and what it's for. If you proceed, you'll usually need recent bank statements and filed accounts — your broker will handle the rest.
